2019-04-18

The admission of first graders of 2019-2020 to Yerevan State Public Schools will be carried out exclusively through electronic registration. At today's press conference held at the RA Ministry of Education and Science, Deputy Minister Lusine Arakelyan and Artak Poghosyan the director of the National Center of Educational Technologies (NCET) presented an online system, which will be launched on May 15 of 2019 at 09:00. Presenting the system, Deputy Minister of Education and Science Lusine Arakelyan noted that its goal is to ensure equal competitive conditions for all: related to the choice of school, increase transparency and neutralize possible corruption risks. “Taking into account the fact of the dissatisfaction connected with the process of admission to the first grade, both by parents and different schools, we have decided to develop an online registration system so that all parents have equal opportunities. The online system will be tested this year in Yerevan and in the future may also be realized in the regions. Every parent can register his/her child from anywhere in the world in order to attend first grade of Yerevan State Public Schools”, - Lusine Araqelyan noted. According to the Deputy Minister, public awareness on the implementation of this system is considered. Additionally, public relations and information, public education departments of the Ministry of the EC, as well as NCET staff will provide ongoing data about this system to citizens through directory phone numbers and on their Facebook page. According to L.Arakelyan, Yerevan State Public Schools will be able to admit 14358 first-graders on September 1, within the framework of state-run licenses. However, it is predicted that more than 13,000 children will attend school in the capital. "The system will be transparent and accountable and the Ministry will keep under control the process of registration”, - mentioned Deputy Minister of Education and Science and continued, - “In the meantime, considering that there may be citizens who will have difficulties with computers, we plan to organize centers in capital's administrative districts to provide assistance to citizens in registering”. According to L. Araqelyan, the support centers will be located in higher schools, and the list of these will be published soon. L Arakelyan emphasized that the principle schools of Yerevan need not initiate anything. NCET Director Artak Poghosyan demonstrated the steps to be taken for the online registration system. These are the steps to follow: enter https://hayt.emis.am/page in the browser, select COMMUNITY , then from the school list, select SCHOOL, check where there is availability and click the “ADD APLICATION” button. If the button is inactive, it means the school you selected has no availability, which means you have to choose another school. You will then need to enter the social security number of one the parents, the parent's name, the surname, the current email address and press the “CONTINUE”. After completing these steps, the system will ask you to fill in the student's social security number. Finally, the system will automatically download the applicant's other personal data from the State Registry, including name, surname, date of birth, etc. After checking the data, you must hit the “CONTINUE” which will take you to the confirmation page, and a password will be sent to your email. By placing the code in the top window, you can access the page created for you and see the list of documents required for admission to school and the deadline for presenting them to your school.

Be aware that the application will be canceled if documents are not presented to the school in the set deadline. The system also allows you to cancel the entry and choose a new school with your own request. According to Artak Poghosyan, the defense mechanism has also been introduced in the system, considering the possible problems and the attempts to interfere with the admission process. In particular, the access to the application entry system will be blocked from the computers of Yerevan's principle schools. In addition, beginning on April 19, stugum.emis.am web site will also be launched, through which the parents can check the availability and accuracy of their and their children's personal data before the launch of the registration system. In order to check, you just need to enter the social card number and check if the child’s and his / her parent’s data are registered. The system stugum.emis.am also verifies the accuracy of the personal data that validates the parent-child relationship. This has been done with the intent that no other person may be able to register another child. In case of problems connected with data, one should apply to the passport or civil registration department to correct the errors”, - Artak Poghosyan noted. The Director of the NCET also noted that after the launch of the registration system, it will be open and will continue to operate permanently with the school management online system.

It must be noted, that Hayt.emis.am system can be accessed from anywhere. In case of any question, call 010-52-73-43, 010-57-84-55, 010-52-47-77. Instructional videos will also be released by the Ministry of Education, which will be broadcasted on different podiums.
