Armenia- Kuwait: Educational Cooperation
Today the RA Minister of Education and Science, Arayik Harutyunyan, met with Nawaf Al-Enezi, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait in Armenia.
Highly appreciating the cooperation with Arab countries, The Minister spoke about expanding the already existing mutual partnership and the possibility to take the relationships to the next level.
Arayik Harutyunyan emphasized that the potential of the higher education system can contribute to the strengthening and development of relations between the two countries, both in education and in other spheres. In that context the Minister of Education and Science highlighted the cooperation programs with the Oriental Studies Department of Yerevan State University, particularly, the Arabic language training courses held for Armenian Students in Kuwait and the activity of the “Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Centre of Arabic Culture” operating in YSU. According to Arayik Harutyunyan, the existing experience of cooperation in the higher educational system should be applied also in general education, taking into account the fact that language acquisition is one of the priorities of Armenia’s educational system.
At the meeting the Minister highlighted that the vector of relationship enlargement can involve not only language training but also the range of medical, information technological, technical professions and researchers. Arayik Harutyunyan touched upon the issue of Armenian education brands, in particular, the issue of internationalization of "Tumo" Center for Creative Technologies and "Armat" laboratories.
Expressing gratitude for the active cooperation in the field of education, Ambassador Nawaf Al-Enezi highlighted the importance of the role of education in the dynamic development of the relations between the two countries. Expressing the willingness of the Arab party to develop relations, the Ambassador stressed that the visit of the Minister of Education and Science of Kuwait to Armenia can be a new impetus to that relations. The Ambassador also informed that the Kuwaiti Investment Fund has a great interest in Armenia's education system. In his turn, the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia highlighted the organization of the Kuwait Education Minister's visit to develop further cooperation in the education system of the two countries
At the meeting the two parties touched upon a number of issues related to the expansion of cooperation in the education system.
