Arayik Harutyunyan Hosts Pupils From Vanadzor

2019-03-11

Today the RA Minister of Education and Science, Arayik Harutyunyan, hosted the pupils from Vanadzor N1 and N6 Basic Schools. They have recently provided first aid to car accident victims, prevented a fire risk of a crushed car and called an ambulance and a rescue team.
Two of the pupils, Edmon Khocharyan and Edik Gharaqeshishyan, are 8th graders in Vanadzor N1 School, and the third is a 7th grader in Vanadzor N6 School.
The drill has received a public response and the minister invited them to a meeting.
“I really wanted to get to know you and talk with you. It is very important for us that at school children learn such skills and knowledge that are necessary in everyday life. This is a priority issue for the Ministry in terms of educational efficiency.”  mentioned the Minister and thanked military education teacher, Arkadi Martirosyan, for his professional work.
“There are many problems at schools that should be solved. We often hear fair complaints that the conditions created at school don’t adequately stimulate the effective work of the teacher. Your case, especially, shows that at schools we have the best teachers. The work you have done shows the behavioral reaction of the students during a rescue drill” stressed Arayik Harutyunyan addressing to the military education teacher of Vanadzor N1 Basic School.
The Minister wanted to understand why instruction of similar subjects in one school is successful but not in others. In this context, Minister Harutyunyan highlighted the importance of increasing the effectiveness of teaching subjects in schools; particularly “First Response Military Training”. He emphasized the necessity of seeing other schools follow the example of this success story.
The Minister awarded the Vanadzor N1 Basic School with the Golden Commemoration Medal of the Ministry of Education and Science, and the pupils and their teacher were given certificates of appreciation.
The manufacturer of Armtab computers, made by the Armenian Technology and Science Dynamics, presented these computers to the students.
Edmon and Edik are members of the firefighting-rescue squad of the Vanadzor N1 Basic School. The squad was founded in 2008 in collaboration with the Ministry of State of Emergency.
The two students who learned rescue and first aid skill during their First Response Military Training classes at the school, admitted that the lessons taught by Artsakh war veteran, Arkadi Martirosyan were both strict and interesting.
During the meeting the Minister also went live on Facebook to introduce the pupils.
